What's New in Version 4.56 - 4.58

  1. Removed Force Arm alarm (type 23). When force arming, Alarm type 19 will be reported. Before when force arming, Alarm Type 19 was not reported, only 23. Bypass (Alarm Type 16) is able to report each zone bypassed.
  2. Event Log - events occurring within the same minute are announced without any time, to speed up the event announcements
  3. If user disarms from the keypad, and there is a message the new message will be played. Before the system disarmed, but the user had to sign in again to hear the message
  4. If the user disarms from alarm, the Alarm History will be played. Before, the system disarmed, but the user would hear alarm history the next time he signed in.

What's New in Version 4.55

  1. Fixed Bug from 4.50 - CMS dial keeps going endlessly after kiss-off
  2. Fixed Bug from 4.50 - If Location 52 is programmed (not 0), Door Station menu does not say "7 to Open Door"
  3. Fixed Bug from 4.35 - 2nd perimeter zone caused alarm
  4. Fixed Bug from 4.26 - Setting "Wait for Dial tone" Off (Location 39) did not dial after 5 seconds if there is no dial tone.
  5. F Key while keying in on keypad ends whatever numbers you are keying and enters F. Eg, "123F2" is the same as "F2". "123" is discarded.
  6. New Message Dialout occurs if message is < 4 seconds, instead of 6 seconds
  7. UK - Require Engineer reset condition is in nonvolatile memory
  8. UK - Exit terminator does not arm immediately, but waits 6 seconds just like final door arm, to allow detectors to settle
  9. When an incoming call and doorbell rings the phone at thesame time, thje Door station has priority. When the phone is answered, the door station is connected
  10. Location 1685 for Phone Ring Response. Can be used to turn off noise
  11. Action 26 to stop door station ring. Assign to zone response for main door so that phone will stop ringing if the door is opened
  12. For PABX setting - If power failure is detected, the system will not skip the PABX digit when dialing out. It will still dial the programmed digit. The PABX may not be on the same power circuit as Comfort.

What's New in Version V4.50 (JE7)To previous page

  1. Door Station menu can now open 2 doors or gates. If Location 1686 is programmed to a Response, then the Door Station Menu will say "4 to Open Door". This is similar to use of Location 52 for the menu "7 to Open Door". This allows a side gate to be opened as well as the main gate using one Door Station.
  2. Any keypad can press F to end keypad menu for intercom, door station or keypad recording, security check for other keypads. This removes the situation where keypad cannot sign in because other keypads are in use or in security check or left on for any reason.
  3. The keypad can always get access from the telephone menu if it is in use
  4. New Keypad Menu for Action 91: 36 = User Code Menu (Add, erase users)
  5. Added new parameter for Action 73 (Get Value), 25 = Away/Vacation Mode. This is used to check if the system is in Away or Vacation Mode. Applies even while the system is arming
  6. When an alarm occurs which has alarm state Alert or Alarm, the system will cut off the local phone to dial out. Before the Keypad was introduced, the phone was used to disarm when an alarm occurred, so it was allowed to interrupt the dialout within a certain time to sign in to disarm. Now, once an alarm, occurs, the local phone cannot sign in until the dialout has been completed
  7. Event Log: Alarm Types setting for "report to event log" is not used anymore. Reporting to event log is automatic. Trouble alarms and restores are automatically reported Added events Low Battery, Power Failure, Phone Trouble & Restores to event log. Intruder Alarm triggered by zone does not report in event log, but the zone triggered is reported To previous page
  8. When doorbell is pressed, the door station number 1 or 2 is reported on the local phone
  9. When system disarmed, the sentence "Security Off" can be heard in full, without the front syllable cut off to "..curity off"
  10. Removed Dial Failure Alarm Type when dial to CMS failed .This frees Alarm Type 28.
  11. Supports instant two key presses on Keypad F + <AWAY> for panic, F+<NIGHT> for FIRE alarm. Needs keypad firmware V10
  12. If the PABX setting is enabled, and PABX dial tone is not detected, Comfort will go ahead to dial the programmed number, in case dial tone is available but is very soft.
  13. If no dial tone is detected during a dialout even after a hook flash to activate timed break recall, Comfort will go ahead to dial the number in case the dial tone is present but too small to be detected. If the dial is unsuccessful, because of incoming caller on line, system goes on hook and does not answer calls (for alert or alarm state) or try to dial until the incoming call release time. If not alert or alarm state, system can answer incoming calls.
  14. Action 24 echo dial on keypad works immediately, instead of after the current dialed number. However, if an alert or alarm state occurs, the keypad echo is turned on if it is on, to prevent alarm dial outs from being echoed on the keypad. The echo can be turned on after alarm initiation for test purposes.
  15. When entering phone numbers, the <DAY> key is an "Escape" key, which means the following key is entered directly without any its built-in function. E.g. <DAY> + * enter * into a phone number without clearing the number, while <DAY> + # enters # into the number without terminating the number. Certain special services like Phone Lock, call waiting or calling card access may require use of * or # characters prior to the telephone number
  16. When entering phone numbers, the NIGHT key causes the next key to cause a delay in seconds in the dial sequence. E.g. <NIGHT> + 5 will enter a delay of 5 seconds in a phone number. "612 <DAY> 37090" dials "612", inserts a 3 second pause, then dials 7090. Credit card or phone card access may require delays in the dialing sequence. From V4.35 to V4.37, the <NIGHT> key caused a dial pause defined in Location 50. From V4.45, Location 50 is not used.

  2. In Vacation Mode, the Holiday setting is on from the next day onwards

Answering Machine

  1. When recording a memo using User 2,4 (or Keypad Function 4), if no sign-in codes have been set up or if there is only 1 mailbox sign-in code, the system will not ask for selection of Mailbox. Instead it will say "Leave Your Message after the tone..." to start recording. This simplifies operation so users do not need to set up any mailboxes.
  2. Incoming callers can select a mailbox even if a mailbox name is not recorded for the mailbox. However, the system will not announce mailboxes without names in the list of mailboxes "Press 1 for..., 2 for..."
  3. If a Greeting Message is recorded but only 1 or no mailbox sign-in codes are set up, the system will not ask the caller to select mailbox 1. It will say "Leave your message after the tone". This allows the answering machine to be turned on without adding any mailboxes as long as a Greeting message is recorded.
  4. The Add Mailbox Menu (Program menu 1,4) will not ask for the mailbox name to be recorded. Only the sign-in code is set up in this menu. The new user can record his name later using his own sign-in code and going to User Menu 2,6,2.. This was done to simplify the process of adding mailboxes, especially making it easier for the installer to explain to the customer. Incoming callers can still leave messages for mailboxes without mailbox names. To previous page

Miscellaneous

  1. Added Zone autoshunt location, which automatically shunts a zone after a number of times of successive activation during an alarm. This is used to prevent repeated alarm activation and dialout caused by faulty zones or wiring
  2. Away Arming by Final Door Arm: Increased delay to arm after door closed from 4 seconds to 6 seconds. This caters for PIRs which take a longer time to settle after activation and are aimed at the entry door.
  3. Repeated Trouble alarms do not interrupt the menu, so that faulty zones do not cause the menu to exit and prevent zone bypass operation.
  4. Engineer Code is automatically disabled whenever the system is armed to any mode. This gives extra protection against unauthorized access by Installers.
  5. The Fire Alarm Siren sound complies with new UL 1998 requirements for Fire Evacuation signal ("Temporal 3").
  6. Added Location 40 - add value 2 to ignore line cut and allow parallel phone connection. With this flag, use of parallel phones will not cause "Phone Trouble" announcement when the telephone connected to TEL OUT is off hook. (Location 7 must also be set to 0 to prevent the Phone Trouble alarm from taking place)
  7. If a Line Cut occurs during Alert or Perimeter Alert or when a Siren delay is running, the Intruder alarm is immediately activated
  8. Wait for Dial Tone parameter is fixed to 2 seconds to prevent wrong setting preventing dialout. Locations 84, 85 are no longer used.
  9. Removed HomeSafe Sign-in report special menus. This function can be implemented using the Disarm Alarm Type.
  10. Event Log events include Engineer Reset (UK only) and Engineer menu access. To previous page

  3. Added Action 100 to skip any combination of the 8 phones to dialout
  4. Added parameter 18 for Action 73 (Get Value) for Door Station ID. This gives the Door Station ID 1= 49, 2=50, 3=51, 4=52. This allows the doorbell press from different Door Stations to be identified so that a different door or gate can be opened when the respective Door Station button is pressed
  5. Added new parameter 34 for Action 91 (Keypad Menu shortcut) to select Dialout On or Off for each alarm type. Use Action 101, alarmtype to select Alarm Type prior to Action 91,34.
  6. Action 1 (Announce Zone) can be used in the Zone OFF Response to announce Zone Off. This allows an appliance switched off but not from the Home Control Menu (e.g. from Time Programs or an external switch) to be announced, provided an input is used for status feedback. To previous page
