Version: Comfort PRO (Outside 4.204)
Version 4.204 (Jan 2004)

Enhancements from 4.178

  • Enhancements to work with C-Touch special keypad keys (like End Menu)
  • Removed support for the X10 PL513 one-way interface, which is no longer used widely. The TW523 or XM10 two way interface is required for X10 interfacing.
  • Supports new Comfort Remote Control RC01
  • When downloading IR code to slave, prevent sending codes which are too large to the slave which may possibly cause the slave to get stuck in sending IR in certain situations.
  • Broadcasts Engineer Sign-in to UCM 5.52, reports PS01/00. Used for CWM TCP Pass-through Port
  • Do not allow messages to be recorded from incoming callers into a mailbox with no name. In older versions, when the caller hears the list of names they can select a mailbox that has no name, causing users to be confused by seeing the new message LED but not knowing how to hear the message.
  • Reminders ON/OFF status are maintained after a RESET, and can now be downloaded and Uploaded from Comfigurator
  • Door Station Menu will always have 4 to Open Gate 7 to Open door to cater for Door Station Module (DM01)
  • Comfort broadcasts the date and time when its internal date or time is changed by any means. This allows external devices to be synchronised to Comforts real time clock. Comfort also sets its Date and Time from external devices via the UCM Interface. Date and time changes from UCM is reported in the event log just like internal change by keypad.
  • Events are always reported to all UCM interfaces, but individual UCMs have to be logged in to receive the messages on the RS232 port.
  • Action 198 Copy Counter added
  • When disarming after an alarm, dialout for System Disarmed Alarm Type is always enabled even if the System Disarmed dialout is disabled. This allows the System Disarmed Alarm Type dialout to be disabled normally, while still allowing dialout when an alarm has just been disarmed.
  • Added support for CBUS Security Application which is needed for C-Touch to be used as a keypad.
  • Comfort reports the start of Entry and Exit delay to UCM Interfaces - This is used by UCM/CBUS security application.
  • Implemented Common Mailbox scheme where if Mailbox 1 has no Name recorded, all other users can access Mailbox 1 messages. If Mailbox 1 has no name recorded, incoming callers will not hear the prompt "Press 1 for (mailbox 1 name), 2 for (mailbox 2 name), etc.." even though the other mailboxes have names.
  • If there is a Voice programming error or Vocabulary Failure, the system can still continue functioning i.e. dialout, record messages, play messages. However the Voice Menu and announcements will not be heard. Even though Voice Menu does not announce, the menus can be selected by pressing the keys on the telephone or keypad. The Event Log will report "Voice Reset"
  • In the case of a failure of the U6 DSP, Comfort will still continue operation, activate alarms, arm, disarm etc. except that dialouts, recording, playback of messages, voice menu will not work. Comfort will still work as a local alarm. The Event Log will report "Voice Reset"
  • The strobe output will automatically turn on for 3 seconds when armed to Local Away Mode without the need to program via a Response.
  • Vocabulary Download improvements in increasing the time-out for certain operations (checking the Vocabulary).
  • Vacation Mode has been maintained. It was proposed to combine Vacation Mode with Away Mode but this was not implemented after the beta program..
Bug Fixes
  • When doorbell rings, but keypad F key is pressed to exit without going into the Door station menu, at the next reminder message time, the reminder does not time out, and keeps ringing the phone and chiming keypad without time-out
  • When disarming the system and Low Battery was active but is now restored Low Battery Led remained always blinking
  • Fixed from 4.147 where SCS or RIO input and output status is not reported correctly after reset (always off), but subsequent activity of RIO inputs and outputs correct the status.
  • RIO ID = 8 status of its outputs and inputs was not reported correctly.
  • When remote user on the telephone is entering code and # key to sign in, and local phone goes offhook, the remote user is able to continue signing in instead of being connected to the local phone.
  • Fixed Swinger shunt - when zone auto shunt count is exceeded, a zone activation would not be reported to the CMS but zone restore would still report if the CMS Report code is enabled (i.e. not FF).
  • Fixed potential problem where too many local phones ringing at the same time may cause false offhook detection, so that system cannot answer phone in these cases.

  • If Armed/Alarm and Home/Trouble status are 255, there will be a spurious broadcast to ID 96 (non-existent)
  • Action 197 cannot be skipped
  • Swinger shunt - when zone autoshunt count is exceeded, a zone activation would not be reported to the CMS but zone restore would still report if the CMS Report code is enabled (ie not FF).

  • Version 4.142 (JE15) - 18 December 2001

UPDATE: Addendum - Late Additional Action Codes (PDF)

    1. Disabled "Door Station" announcement on Door station and Keypads. Reminder message action 133 can be used to announce message on either keypad or door station or both if required.
    2. Fixed bug where if incoming call is answered and system is waiting for code, local keypad sign in will not regain access to user menu until the remote sign-in has timed out, after 20 seconds.

This version onwards requires a Voice Upgrade to E15 (Return to Base or use Comfigurator 1.1.6 to download the BIN files - see tech area)

    Version 4.141 (JE12) - 30 October 2001

    1. For Control Menu feedback Location, if the feedback value for Counter is 255, the announcement will be the control Action 1 word (eg "ON") not the value "255"
    2. UCM ID=2 comms failure will be reported as Trouble alarm "Communications Failure". Only UCM ID=1 comms failure is not reported so that UCM can be plugged in and out freely. UCM ID=1 is reserved for programming, while UCM ID>1 is for other RS232 interfaces, e.g C-Bus
    3. Home Control Group Menu - when a device operation is selected, the menu will return to the top level Group Menu so that the user can always use a consistent sequence to select an operation without having to remember if they are in the top Control Group Menu or device menu, e.g press 0,1,1 for Lights, Bedroom Light ON, then press 1,2,1 for Heater, bathroom heater on, without having to press # after the 1st operation to return to Group Menu.

    Version 4.139 (Vocab E12)/Introduced X10 Preset Dim

    1. Support for X10 Extended Codes using action 140. This is especially useful for Pre-Set Dimming with the LD11 DIN Dimmer when used with action 195. (see "programming with Actions" Book) - OUTSIDE ONLY - Addendum - Late Additional Action Codes (PDF)
    2. Action 91,4 can be used for Control Groups menu. Keypad shortcut F2 should use 91,4 instead of 134,31,4
    3. Control menu feedback will announce "(Control words) IS .. (On or off)" so that users know if the announcement is the feedback status or the control action. Requires E12 vocabulary
    4. Answering Machine Bypass - made more consistent, system sometimes did not answer 2nd call To previous page

    Version 4.133 (Vocab E11) - 15 October 2001

    1. Fixed bug from 4.114. Door Chime on Doorbell was cut off, but it can be heard on keypad

    Version 4.132 (Vocab E11) - 26 Sept 2001

    1. Implemented flag for "External Answering Machine bypass" in Location 40 bit 7. If the bit is set, the method of answering on 1st ring is enabled.
    2. Fixed a bug on "External Answering Machine bypass" where the system does not answer the call on 1st ring when supposed to.

    Version 4.131 (Vocab E11) - 1 August 2001

    1. Action 111 allows the door station timer to be changed from the defaults (30 seconds for ringer in Night/Off mode and 180 seconds for dialout in Away Mode)
    2. Fixed bug where action 135 (record message on Door Station) timer setting was not effective in Security Off. The message was always recorded after 30 seconds no matter what time was specified. The timer setting now also determines the duration of the ringer when the doorbell is pressed.
    3. Fixed bug - action 26 (Stop Doorbell) caused the Door Station recording not to work subsequently when the doorbell is pressed again.

    Version 4.127 (Vocab E11) - 11 July 2001

    1. Same Alert zone activated twice does not cause alarm. To previous page

    Version 4.125 (Vocab E11)- 11 June 2001

This version contains major changes in operation, especially in Control Menu, Comfort answering, gain selection for recording and Voice Station. It requires corresponding changes in CSXpress defaults and Vocabulary has been changed from 9 to 11. Engineer Manual, Action Codes, User Manuals, Worksheets all need to be updated. The changes are grouped into categories. An item may be listed in two categories.

"Master" Version may be phased out in future to be replaced by "Outside"

    Locations and Responses

    1. Location 1843 for Offhook Response, Location 1844 for Onhook response (Only applies to Outside, not Master or Entry)
    2. Introduced Received Counter Responses. When a counter message is received from any UCM using the C! Command (64 counters are supported), a Response is activated (Table 37B for Locations 6420 to 6483 of Responses in Worksheet ). This can be used to check the value of the counter and do actions according to the value. Value of the counter can indicate temperature, light level etc. This is used for C-Bus interface. (Outside only)
    3. Tune Parameters increased from 46 to 61

    Control Menu

    1. For FS18 and Outside version, major change in operation of Control Menu, Control Menu Groups have been introduced. There are up to 3 control groups 0 to 2, with each control group having 10 control keys 0 to 9. This allows another higher level of control menu, e.g. Press 0 for Lights, 1 for Air-conditioning and heating, 2 for hi-fi. Selecting the control groups will give the submenu 0 for ..., 1 for ... Etc.". If the Control group words are not programmed, the control menu will be just like the current system. Programming the Control menu is different, the Engineer menu 3,1 is "Enter Control code and # key". Enter 0 to 29 # to select up to 30 control keys. Group 0 is control keys 00 to 09, Group 1 is control key 10 to 19, group 2 is control key 20 to 29. Control Group words programming menu is Engineer menu 3,0. (Master and Outside versions). For 4.124, only 2 Control Groups are available 0 and 1 - do not use Control Group 2.
    2. Engineer Menu 7,4,3 "System Control Number will include the U7 Vocabulary number after the version name and number, e.g. "Outside 4.120, 11" means Outside version 4.120, vocabulary number 10. If Vocabulary number is not 10, the vocabulary number announced will not be meaningful. (Master and Outside versions)
    3. For Master, Control key feedback location can be used for Input on/off announcement only, not for Analog Input Value, Counters or Output number

    UCM-Related (Outside only)

    1. Outside version accepts UCM command V? and replies with version information
    2. For Outside version, when Door Station button is pressed, DB message on the UCM will report the door station id
    3. For Outside version, Comfort will not send any information (i.e. inputs, outputs, x10 transmit and receive, alarms, security modes) to any UCMs until it receives a valid Log in from a UCM. Logout from a UCM does not disable reporting of events because other UCMs may be logged on still. Also, during Upload and Download with CSXpress, the reporting from Comfort is also turned off until another Login is received.
    4. DI command from UCM dial-up caused by action 138 is implemented for Outside version
    5. Outside version responds to UCM "S?" Command to report alarm state. Also Comfort will report new alarm state after the alarm type broadcast to UCM.
    6. Added Action 197 to send text to UCM RS232 port to enable interface with other serial Interfaces like C-Bus.
    7. Introduced Received Counter Responses. When a counter message is received from any UCM using the C! Command (64 counters are supported), a Response is activated (Table 37B for Locations of Responses in Worksheet). This can be used to check the value of the counter and do actions according to the value. Value of the counter can indicate temperature, light level etc. This is used for C-Bus interface.
    8. Comfort accepts C! Command from the UCM RS232 port for up to 8 counters in one line.

    Dialout

    1. When dialing to a Voice phone, pressing "# to end" will NOT stop dialouts to the other phones in the dialing group (phones 1 to 2 and 3 to 8). Only a user sign in will end the dialouts to its own group.
    2. Phone can be used to dial out during Away Mode. This allows other systems like auto faxing, auto dialing to dial out while in Away Mode

    Door Station

    1. Door Station: Added a slight pause before saying "Gate Open" or "Door Open" to prevent the first part of the sentence from being clipped.
    2. Door Station: When the doorbell is pressed, "Door Bell" is heard as well as the doorbell chime. Some users complained that the chime is difficult to hear when the keypad is further away.
    3. For Outside version, when Door Station button is pressed, DB message on the UCM will report the door station id
    4. Door Station mode time-out during Dialout is increased from 100 seconds to 180 seconds to give more time to answer the door station call. After the time-out, if the call is answered, the message "Door Station, press 1 to Repeat, # to End" is heard, instead of "Press 0 for Door Station".
    5. Action 30 used in the Doorbell Response (Location 1691) will force a Dialout even when not in Away/Vacation Mode

    UK-specific features

    1. For Master version, Exit Terminator, Alarm Abort and Engineer reset are no longer available. They are available only for Outside.

    Actions

    1. Action 133, reminder#, id. If id=63, this selects the current door station id, so that if several door stations are installed, the one which has the doorbell pressed can be addressed for the reminder message, i.e. Response with action with 133,8,63 in Location 1691 will play reminder message 8 on the selected Door station when the doorbell is pressed, without having to specify one door station id.
    2. Action 133, reminder#, 0 will broadcast the reminder message on all keypads and Door Stations. 133,reminder,64 broadcast the reminder on all keypad ids, and 133,reminder 48 broadcasts the reminder on all Door Stations.
    3. DI command from UCM dial-up caused by action 138 is implemented for Outside version
    4. Action 139, id, 0=off 1=on to set Keypad broadcast mode on/off. Keypad Broadcast mode on means broadcast announcements are heard on the keypad and broadcast mode means that announcements are not heard on the keypad. Currently on the keypad, Program Menu 3,1 allows the specific keypad broadcast mode to be turned on or off, but action 139 allows this to be done via Time program or other events
    5. Action 30 used in the Doorbell Response (Location 1691) will force a Dialout even when not in Away/Vacation Mode
    6. Added Action 197 to send text to UCM RS232 port to enable interface with other serial Interfaces like C-Bus. (Outside only)
    7. Action 91 Keypad Short cut to Menu added parameter 37 for Voice Report (Keypad announcements). Parameter 31 was pulse dial menu, changed to Main Menu. Default for Function key 2 Response 102 is changed (99,64,134,31,4,255) because of new Control groups function.

    Voice Station

    1. Engineer Menu 8,0 allows a remote phone to tune the MIC control trimmer on Comfort to minimize the echo on the keypad for Voice Station mode.
    2. For Voice Station and Door Station modes, the automatic line echo cancellation adjustment during the beep is removed as it did not work well in some instances causing the received voice to be too soft.
    3. For FS18 and FS19 systems, Location 1700 (FS17, Location 1724) is for setting the gain for telephone voice to keypad speaker for Voice Station and Door Station mode for optimisation. Value 3 gives maximum gain to the speaker, value 0 gives minimum gain. Any value > 3 is considered as 3, the maximum value, which is also default..

    Telephone Access

    1. Implemented "people-at-home Bypass" method. When only 1 ring is received, a second call within 10 to 25 seconds will be answered immediately by Comfort. This allows the user to access Comfort even if the house is occupied. It also allows an external answering machine to be used instead of the Comfort answering machine and allows the user to access Comfort.

    Keypad Operation

    1. Fixed situation where during keypad announcements, voice frequencies could cause a false DTMF tone to be detected, so interrupting the announcement

    Answering Machine

    1. If local phone offhook interrupts a message being recorded by an incoming caller, the message recorded so far is kept as a New Message instead of being deleted as before, so that if the phone is picked up just as the recording ends, the message is not lost
    2. Fixed situation where system answers the incoming call but user answers the phone at the same time, the local phone will announce "Please Sign In" instead of connecting the local phone to the caller.
    3. Fixed a bug on new message recording. If a message is recorded to a mailbox and a phone is assigned in User menu 2,6,7, but the New Message Alarm type 29 has Dialout set, Comfort may dial out later when the system is disarmed.
    4. For FS18 and FS19 systems, Location 1699 (FS17, Location 1723) is for setting the gain for telephone voice recording.. Value 3 gives maximum gain while value 0 gives minimum gain. Any value > 3 is considered as 3, the max. value which is also default. This is not implemented in FS17 systems.

    Security

    1. When system is armed, Engineer Test Mode (Engineer 8,6,1) is disabled. Security Check is also disabled while system is armed. System says "invalid"
    2. Fixed a bug - Keypad # can force-arm even if Force-arming is disabled.

    IR

    1. The size of the buffer for IR transmission has been increased from 42 to 50 bytes for Master and Entry Versions. Outside version already has > 100 bytes for this.

    Version 4.115 (4 April 2001)

    1. Fixed rare problem of some announcements containing voice frequencies that correspond to a DTMF tone and causing the announcement to be interrupted by a "beep". Problem manifested in Chinese word "Kuan"
    2. Slight "Pop" sound on keypad when the speaker is turned on (e.g. pressing # key for messages announcement) has been removed.

    Version 4.114 (19 March 2001)

    1. Fixed problem which occurs rarely of keypad sign in locally while in remote telephone menu not getting access to system.
    2. Fixed voice station and door station mode "dead zone" problem, where if a zone announcement is initiated while in doorstation/voicestation mode, after the mode ends, the zone is announced and immediately system goes "beep" and reenters the door station/voicestation mode but cannot hear or talk to the station until you press # to end.

    Version 4.108/109 (29 Dec 00)

    All Comfort versions

    1. New Flag Location 39 bit 3 (value 8), must be set for Australian systems only (default on), to allow local phone to be supplied by 20 V generated by the ringer board during local phone menu. This has little effect on systems for other countries, but the flag may be turned off to save some current.
    2. Fixed bug from 4.88 where dial delay was not effective. (Note that Alarm Restores cancel the dial delay)
    3. New Action 29 announces the day of week and current time
    4. Time Program On/Off settings are saved when the system is turned off or reset.
    5. Location 1845 for Hourly Response to be run on the hour.
    6. Control Key feedback expanded to announce Output state, Analog Input values and Counter Values. Value of 1 to 64 is for Input On/Off as before, 65-128 for Analog Inputs 1 to 64, 129 to 191 is for Output 1 to 64 on/off states, Value 192 to 222 for Counter (0 to 31) values.
    7. Number of Counters increased from 8 to 32 (0 to 31) for Master, 64 (0 to 63) for Outside.
    8. Number of Timers increased from 8 to 16 for Master (Outside already has 16)
    9. Number of output commands (Infrared, output on/off, pulse, IR) which can be processed in the command queue is increased from 16 to 24 for Master, 32 for Outside

    Outside only

    1. Fixed bug where M! Did not check user authorisation when arming and reported user 91 instead of actual user number
    2. Number of Counters increased from 8 to 64 (0 to 63)
    3. C! And C? Commands for Counter from UCM are accepted
    4. Number of output commands (Infrared, output on/off, pulse, IR) which can be processed in the command queue is increased from 16 to 32.

    UCM

    1. Added C! And C? Commands to set counter and get value of counter (Needs Outside version 4.107)

    Version 4.103 (30 Oct 00)

    1. Outside - Date/Time command (DT) from UCM now allows the seconds field to be set
    2. Fixed bug where Phone Ring Response (Location 1685) used to be falsely triggered by phone offhook. Now this is triggered only on the 2nd ring

    Version 4.102 (21 Sept 00)

    1. Outside 4.102 - accepts RS232 command O!NN02 where action 02 toggles the output NN state (from off to ON and vice versa)

    Version 4.101 (16/9/00) (JE9)

    1. Door Station menu is "4 to open gate" if Location 1686 is nonzero and "7 to open door" if Location 52 is nonzero. Pressing 4 will announce "Gate Open" and 7 will announce "Door Open" on the selected Door Station only. Vocabulary E9 is needed. Each of maximum 3 door stations can open 2 entrances named "door" and "gate".
    2. 24 hour zone types will cause immediate alarm even while arming
    3. New Flag in Location 40 bit 3 when set, will always cut off the local phones when dialing out. In previous versions, the local phones are only cut if the system is in Alert or Alarm State. It did not cut off the local phones when dialing for New message or System Set/Unset for example which are Idle state alarms. This new flag was added, because in premises which have many local phones connected to TEL OUT, the dialout in Idle and Trouble states could be affected due to the load caused by the extra phones. When the called phone number answered, there was a spurious signal which caused Comfort to think that a local phone was picked up,and so aborted the dialout. Cutting off the local phones in such situations would solve the problem.
    4. S12V Output will not automatically turn off when the system is disarmed. This has to be done by Action 90 (S12V ON/OFF). This change is to give the flexibility of resetting the S12V output either when the system is disarmed, or when the system is being armed. For example, latched shock detectors should not be reset when the system is disarmed, as this will prevent the activated detectors from being identified. (To do a Response when the system is being armed, put the Response in Location 1850) We are using a new Response 151 for this. However, latched smoke detectors may require resetting when the system is disarmed. A Timer will have to be used to set the S12V output after resetting. For systems which do not require the S12V to be reset, no response is required. This change allows the behaviour of S12V to be determined according to actual needs.
    5. Door Station activation in Away Mode is reported in the Event log. Before it was not reported in event log but the dialout was reported.
    6. Entry, Pagewatch versions have Location 1847 for AC Restore Response, 1848 for Phone Trouble Restore Response, 1849 for delay after * key for local phone access. This feature was only enabled for Outside and Master
    7. Action 133 (play Reminder message on Keypad) can work on Door Station as well, 133, reminder, id.If id is 1 to 8, the reminder message will play on the keypad. If id is 49 to 51 it plays reminder on Door Station 1 to 3. id = 65 to 72 as well as 1 to 8 plays reminder on KP 1 to 8
    8. When uploading/downloading with CS-Xpress, if eeprom file system is wrong, allow login as user 1 always so that blank EEPROMs U4 can be programmed
    9. UCM4.101 - Prevent UPLOAD switch from doing anything if the COPY IC is not in. Prevent DLOAD switch from doing anything if the MASTER IC is not in. Implemented a timeout for csxpress Upload to be aborted if no reply is received from Comfort due to multiple IP reports during Upload, so that other operations can be performed.
    10. Outside 4.101 - increased size of transmit buffer so that IP reports during CS-Xpress Upload will not abort the upload.
      To previous page

    Version 4.100 (JE8)

    1. When doorbell is pressed, the menu will be "0 for Door Station" (instead of 1). Pressing 0 will select whichever door station button was pressed. Pressing 1 to 3 will select door station by number. 0 actually selects the last active door station which is the one whose button was pressed or the last one selected.
    2. From User menu 6 for door station will be "Select Door Station 1 to (max door station)"
    3. Action 110 get new messages >0 if new messages are present (but does not tell number of new messages), =0 if no new messages
    4. Action 109 Preset dim fixed bug
    5. Removed Open Door Response via location 1686.

    Version Outside 4.98

    1. Fixed bug where keypads green led did not turn on at system RESET.
    2. UCM4.99 May be wrong version does not work on UCM

    Version Outside 4.97

    1. If Comfort detects a problem in the Voice engine, it resets it and reports it in the event log as "Voice Reset".

    Version 4.89 (20 July 2000)

    1. Unbypassing a Zone will not report Zone ON (IP) to the UCM if the zone is active.
    2. Accepts Login command (LI) from the UCM, and will accept commands from the UCM only if a correct login code was submitted. Previous versions do not reply to the Login command, but will accept UCM commands without login.

Version "Outside" 4.96 (beta version) - Vocab E8

    1. The "Outside" version supports the new UCM RS232 API according to the document "Comfort RS232 Command Interface", all other normal firmware versions are identified as 'Master'.
    2. 16 User Timers (increased from 8) for "Outside" versions only (O4.90)
    3. Fixed bug caused by action 135 (doorphone recording), which prevents doorphone from dialing out or ringing the home phones.(O4.90)
    4. Added Action 28 - RESET system (O4.90)
    5. Added Digital Inputs setting in Zone Type. Digital Inputs are different from normal EOL input setting. A digital voltage level (0 to 5V) can be applied to the inputs. The zone Shunt must be set to 2 end-of-line resistors, and the zone type settings need to have the digital input value set. A new version of the worksheet will give this information.(O4.90)
    6. Action 108 for Omit zone ON/OFF. Omitting a zone is like bypassing, except that Omitted zones do not become unbypassed when the security system is disarmed. This is used e.g. for key switch To previous pagebypassing of one or more zones, when you need to remove zones until further action.(O4.90)
    7. Action 73 - added parameter 26 - Get Offhook, return nonzero if offhook, 0 if onhook (O4.90)
    8. For Door station menu, only 7 to open door is heard. 4 to open door is no longer used. Location 1686 is not used anymore for "4 to open door". If there are more than 1 Door Station, use get door station id action 73,18 to find out which door station made the call. (O4.91)
    9. Fixed bug - Dial delay setting for CMS Phone type was not effective. (O4.93)
    10. Added X10 Preset dim using Action 109. (O4.95). Does not work.
    11. Sends siren command to slaves (SEP), so that the slaves siren outputs can be used as auxiliary sirens. Requires Slave F4.92 (O4.95)
    12. Increased allowance for number of times for failure of keypads and other RS485 ids to reply to reduce spurious and intermittent Comms Failure alarms
    13. Comfort accepts login code verification from the UCM LI command
    14. If the Digital Signal Processor finds an internal error, it resets the whole system, and adds an event "Voice Reset" to the event log. This needs Vocab version E8. Systems without the new vocabulary will hear "program code reset" instead.

    Version 4.87 (26 May 2000)

    1. The local phone rings for 30 seconds instead of 100 seconds when activated by doorbell or reminders. In Away mode while dialing out, the doorphone mode is active for 100 seconds still. After 100 seconds, the person answering the doorphone call will not hear "1 for door station"
    2. If a fault in the DSP voice engine is found, reinitialize the Voice IC. A new event "Voice Reset" will be added to the event log. This requires vocabulary E8. Systems without the E8 vocabulary will heard "Program code reset" instead.
    3. M4.87 removed Pulse dialing. Pulse dialing is still available in other versions
    4. Added Time Correction in Location 1846. The value in seconds will be used to cirrect the time at 3 AM every day. Values from 0 to 29 are added to the current time (to speed up the time). Values from 30 to 59 are subtracted from the current time (to slow down the clock). Negative values 59 subtracts 1 from the time (3:00 A.M. will become 2:59 AM), A value of 31 subtracts 29 seconds from the time (3:00 AM becomes 2:31AM).

    Version 4.86 (3/5/2000)

    1. Location 1850 for Response number which is activated when the To previous pagesystem is being armed, when Security Check is started, not when the system has been armed. This is used for resetting latched detectors while arming.
    2. The number of attempts to communicate with a keypad or slave before a Comms Failure is reported has been increased from 10 to 20 to reduce the incidence of Comms Failure reports from certain sites.
    3. Detects dial tone of 3 seconds to end a recording. This caters for the BT end of call tone which is produced when a caller hangs up. The BT tone will not be included in the message. This may have the effect of incorrectly ending a call when a constant noise is produced during a recorded message.
    4. Constant Noise energy is also used to detect the end of call while recording a message, in addition to silence on the line, dial tone and busy tone.
    5. When an OGM (greeting message) is present but there are no recorded Names, Comfort will not play "Leave your message after the tone" after the OGM. However, if names are present, "Leave your message.." will still be played after the list of names.
    6. The message "Press # to End" after "Leave your message after the tone" has been removed, as the BT tone detection will end the recorded message without the caller having to press a key to end.
    7. The maximum time cut off from the end of message to remove busy tones, dial tones, silence is limited to 7 seconds in order to prevent wrong settings in the Tune Parameters from causing the entire recorded message to be erased.

    Version 4.85 (14/3/2000)

    1. Corrected operation when intruder alarm is caused by Entry delay time-out instead of an immediate zone trigger, the entry door restore will be reported correctly to the CMS
    2. Fixed BUG from 4.17 Action 100 did not stop cms dial out
    3. Fixed BUG dial delay for cms did not work
    4. Main menu don't allow 5 for Voice station if there are no Keypads in Location 1675
    5. B4.85 - 7 for door station will also turn off keypad beeps.

    Version 4.83 (23/2/2000)

    1. Fixed bug in Action 73, 24 Get User number, did not get correct value before To previous page
    2. Fixed bug - Action 79 (get input) in Zone Response during Entry alert changed the current zone, causing Entry Warning when the zone is on Entry Path

    What's New in Version 4.81 (14/1/2000)

    Vocabulary 7C

    Bug Fixes

    1. Bypassed zone was reported to CMS when the zone is restored from open condition
    2. Dial out to some US Mobile networks did not work because the ring-back tone duration of >2 seconds caused system to detect dial tone and hang up. Dial tone detection is changed from 2 seconds to 3 seconds. This will result in a longer time to detect dial tone in normal dial-outs (3 seconds).
    3. If the Repeat Zone Setting in Location 40 was set, the last zone activated would be repeated continuously during an alarm. During this time, incoming calls were not answered by the system. This has been fixed so that incoming calls are answered. To previous page

    Dial out to Telephone

    1. Removed Alarm Message Phone Type (Phone Type 3) , and combined the feature with the Voice Phone Type (Phone Type 1). When dialing to Voice Phone, the system will announce Alarm Type, followed by the Zone Name (or Number), then "Press 1 to Repeat, # to End. This allows the user to press # to hang up without having to enter their code to sign in if they do not need to. Previous versions did not announce the zone name, only a zone number. The user can sign in at any time during this message by pressing * and code and # key. If the Phone Type is set to 3 in old systems being upgraded, they will dial to Voice Phone.
    2. If # is pressed to end the call, this will end the dial-out to the Dial-out Group (Phones 1,2 and 3 to 8).
    3. Dialing in to the system from a telephone will also hear Alarm Type and Zone Name of the zone number is programmed.

    Auto-arm

    1. When auto-arming to Night Mode, keypad beeps are heard for the duration of Night Exit Time. This gives the user warning and time to disarm if they do not wish the auto-arm to continue.

    Recording Message from caller

    1. After the Greeting Message, and "Leave your message after the Tone", there will be a message "Press # to End" to prompt the caller to end the recording cleanly.

    Arm Fail

    1. If Alarm Fail occurred, signing in will disarm the system to Security Off, without needing to Press 0 for Security Off

    2 Way Voice Station

    1. For rev E PCB, when entering Voice Station mode, the keypad will beep to alert for privacy protection. During Alarm conditions only, this tone is not heard.
    2. If a zone is detected in Voice Station, the zone is announced. After the announcement of Zone, and if there are more than 1 keypad, the system would go to "Select Station 1 to (max)". Now, the system will go back to Voice Station with the previous keypad in communication.

    What's New in Version 4.77

    Time Programs

    1. Time Program Menu is accessible on Program Menu "6 for Time Program". The Response assigned to the Time Programs can be heard, but not changed in program Mode to prevent incorrect user alteration. This allows the user (via Program Menu) to change the Time and Days of week of any Time Program, but not to change the assigned Response.
    2. Time Program Menu - when Time program is selected, the menu announces the Time program number, e.g. "Time Program 1, ..." Vocabulary version is E7B
    3. Time Programs - "Press 1 for ON, 0 for OFF "added to the menu to allow individual Time programs to be turned off and on without changing all the days of weeks to 0. Time Program menu rearranged "0 - Off, 1 - On, 2 -Time, 3 - Day of Week, 4 - Response" For example, the user can turn off the Time Program to auto-arm to Night mode when they are having guests to dinner.

    Reminder Messages

    1. Added Erase Reminder Message menu in Reminder Message menu User 2,5,4,3
    2. Reminder Message is activated only the corresponding Reminder message has been recorded.
    3. Reminders will not work if the system is in alarm
    4. Reminders - "press 1 for ON, 0 for OFF "added to the menu to allow individual Time programs to be turned off and on without changing all the days of weeks to 0. Menu rearranged "0 - Off, 1 - On, 2 -Time, 3 - Day of Week, 4 - Message 5 - Mailbox". "4 for Reminder off" sub-menu (which used to turn off all the days of the week) has been removed.

    Messages/ Answering Machine

    1. Record Time (Program 1,2) is now common for Messages, Greeting message, Mailbox Names, Alarm Message.
    2. Beep tone after "Leave your message after the tone" frequency increased from 500 hz to 1 Khz, and volume reduced to comply with certain regulatory requirements.

    4. Added Erase Alarm Message menu Program Menu 3,5,3. To previous page

    Keypad/ Door Station Intercom

    1. When Voice Station or Door station is selected, there will be a short beep tone to indicate two way conversation mode. This tone also helps to establish compensation for telephone line conditions to improve the quality of the two way mode.
    2. In Keypad intercom, after pressing F8, select an individual keypad to talk to by pressing the keypad number before another keypad answers
    3. During Voice station mode in alarm, the Siren output (SRN) will remain on, but the internal speaker and keypad siren will be off to allow sounds to be heard in the house.
    4. Door station Menu moved from 3,1 to User Menu 6. If no door stations are installed (Location 1674=0), then "6 for Door Station" is not heard. If more than 1 door station is installed, then a submenu will ask "Select station 1 to N"
    5. Keypad intercom: Originator is allowed to select a specific keypad by pressing the keypad number after F8, before another keypad responds.

    Actions and Responses

    1. New Logic actions 105 = AND input, 106 = OR input, 107 = XOR input allow inputs to be used in logic operations.
    2. If an Unknown action in a response is encountered, the Response will skip past by the number of codes depending on the action number (e.g. 64 -127 has 1 parameter following the action code). Previous versions exited the Response when encountering unknown actions.
    3. When power and battery are completely removed, Comfort will remember and return to the previous security mode when power is restored.
    4. Start-up Response in Location 1683 was added. This response will be executed at start-up, after the panel arms to previous state
    5. Action 79 - Get Input State used to return non zero value when the Zone Type was zero. It now returns value 0.

    Miscellaneous

    1. During remote access, the acknowledgment beeps have been made shorter, and "dead time" after previous keypress have been reduced to make it easier to enter dtmf codes for access and programming. This will make it easier to do remote programming, as previously, rapid key presses were more likely to get missed.
    2. Pulsed output tasks will be activated sequentially in order. In previous versions, successive pulses were not turned off until the last pulse.
    3. Default startup date changed to 1 January 1999
    4. Emergency code 9999 has been removed, as this is not necessary with the keypad 2 key Panic.
    5. Alarm Settings Menu - Dial settings sub-menu was simplified. "0 - Off, 1 - On, 2 - dial delay, 3 - Report Code, 4 - Restore code etc", eliminating one menu layer "0 for off, 1 for on"
    6. Remote menu time-out when no key is pressed was shortened from 30 seconds to 15 seconds so that if remote party hangs up in menu without exiting from the menu, Comfort will take less time to end the call. The timer runs only when the menu is not playing, and the system is waiting for user input. If the telephone company gives busy tone when the remote party hangs up, Comfort can automatically detect this, but in some countries, this is not the case.
