Comfort Ultra G2 U1 'Flash' Firmware Ugrade

'Flash' upgradeable Firmware for Comfort Ultra
G2
The Firmware is the microcontroller program that determines the operation
and function of Comfort. This is embedded into the U1 microcontroller Integrated
Circuit (IC). This embedded firmware can be changed in order to upgrade
the functionality of the firmware where there are new features introduced
in Comfort Ultra
G2, or to correct errors in the firmware. the firmware may be upgraded
using,the UCM05
module. To change the firmware that is installed in the Comfort U1 microcontroller,
the MPU01 is needed.
The MPU01 board is simply plugged onto the board over the existing U1 and
then removing J14 jumper |
| There are two versions of the MPU01
module. The original Comfort Ultra G2 firmware before September 2007 used
the OTP (One-Time Programmable) version where the firmware cannot be upgraded.
These boards can be upgraded to allow flash upgrades using this MPU01. The
firmware can be upgraded by Comfigurator firmware download and a mtf file
which is available from the technical area under Firmware Upgrades. The
OTP version has been discontinued, and has been replaced by this Flash version |
COMPATABILITY
This
firmware module is only suitable for Comfort
Ultra G2 boards and will not work with Comfort G1 panels.
This board will only operate once shunt J14 on the
Comfort G2 PCB has been removed. J14 jumper is next to the LED's D1 and
D2.

Comfort Keypad (PD6662) - Polycarbonate (white) - KP03 with IR
|
|
The Keypad - More than a Keypad
(now PD6662 Grade 3 Compliant!)
The Comfort keypad is a true innovation in Security keypads, it talks in clear English using voice-menus to guide you through the options. This is a partial list of its capabilities. First, it has convenient one-touch arming to Away, Night, Day and Holiday Modes. All the 16 keys are fully programmable for any function, by pressing the FUNCTION button followed by any key. Comfort's KP03 keypad now has Infrared 'receive' allowing you to control up to 128 Comfort Responses from Phillips Pronto.
Each key can be programmed to perform a macro, or in Comfort terminology, a Response,
which for example, may turn on the heating, set the temperature or the water sprinklers.
Each function key can be individually protected from access by requiring a sign-in
code. Each key can also be programmed to give a short cut to useful voice menus,
for example, to change users PIN codes, to bypass zones, to do a system check,
to leave a message for family member, to listen to the event log, and so on. Each
keypad can act as an intercom to other keypads on the premises (up to 8 in a system)
also allowing you to speak visitors at the door via the Comfort
Doorphone DP01 and DP02.
The Keypad can also be used as a Baby Monitor, to listen to sounds using a keypad
in the baby's room. During alarms, the keypad's speaker and microphone may be
used for audio verification. Each keypad may be linked to a zone to be activated
automatically to track the intruder. LED Status indication for Armed, Disarmed,
Trouble, Alarm, Power failure, Low Battery and New Message. Users can leave messages
for other family members or colleagues on the Keypad. By assigning telephone numbers
to your mailboxes, messages may be forwarded to your telephones. Up to 8 Keypads
can be installed in a system.
Cable Requirements:
Keypads can be wired in 8-core screened cable (min.) or Screened CAT5 each cable
running separately back to the 8001 CPU or SEP02.
Each keypad is addressable from 1- 8 using a set of three jumpers. If more than
3 keypads are to be used, a supplementary power supply should be fitted. 6 Connections
are made to the keypad via convenient plug-on terminal blocks. Fixing plugs and
screws are provided.
| KP01's, KP02's, KP03's and KP04's may be mixed on the same system. For compliance with PD6662/EN50131 Grade 3 the keypad should be used with the ComfortULT2E compliant control panel with firmware .
G2 5.100 or later.
There are
extensive KP02/KP03 and Pronto resources in the Comfort
Technical Website. |
