you just switch the Pronto to RF (optional RF Extender required).

besides the features in Release 4 new functionality to help you create your
configuration file, now called PCF (Pronto Configuration File):
Multi document
Multi level (Standard and Advanced)
Transparency
Multiple jumps in macro
Full screen configurability
Assignment of system functions to buttons

there is also provision to import the older CCF file format

you cannot use TSU3000 files from Remotecentral.com for the
RU950 even though it can load into the software because they
are not compatible with each other.
X10 RF using Pronto RU950 (Outside
USA Only).
The Pronto RU980, RU950, Marantz RC9200 and Marantz
RC5200 can send both IR and 433.92MHz RF. Since the
TM12, TM13, etc. also use 433.92MHz, these RF-capable
remotes can send RF codes directly.
[CodeGen™]
is a freeware Windows utility that will generate the CCF hex
format codes needed (Thanks to David Houston).

Red-Eye infra-red translator
To use the Pronto or other learning remote with
digital cable, then you simply additionally need the
Red-Eye infra-red translator. This little device sticks
to the front of your Pace 1000, or 2000 series set top
box, and plugs into the rear socket of the cable box
for power. It translates RC6 infra-red codes, into IRDA
codes, thereby allowing your Pronto or other learning
remote to control the cable box. |
